Mrs. Bates soon pasted the other lady, taking a quick glance at her face. Then she stopped dead in her tracks, turning around and staring at the lady. It took quite a while for the women at the bus stop to notice Mrs. Bates. When they finally made eye contact, Luella screamed like a little girl running into a candy store. She ran up and hugged the poor, confused lady.
"You must be Gracie Mae!" she practically shouted at her. "Gracie Mae Still, who wrote the song for Traynor?"
"Uh, why yes I am," Gracie Mae said shocked, never before had someone recognized who she was.
"I'm Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. Every night, my room mates and I listen to Hound Dog on on our record player." Gracie Mae nodded as she tried to understand what the women just sputtered. When she finally conprehended what Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones said she replied,
"It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Luella," Gracie Mae said, who was starting to get unconfortable with the lady staring wide eyed at her. There was a silence between the two women and Gracie Mae looked down at her watch, hoping the bus would come soon.
"Would you mind if I asked you a question?" Mrs. Bates said. However, before Gracie Mae could anwser the large women asked anyway. "You look great, so what's the secret? I've been dying to loose a few pounds and I noticed you have." Gracie didn't know to answer the bold women. She decided to approach the conversation by stating she cut down on fast foods and cooked more at home. Mrs. Bates began to excitedly say how she was just about to go home and cook dinner. They went back and forth of all the difficulties they shared on loosing weight, laughing together about their experiences, until finally Gracie Mae's bus came. They said their goodbyes and Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones walked into her house continuing her normally night.
