Found Poem- Ava

Safe

The man sat in the snow for a moment.
Such were his thoughts, but he did not sit and think them.
He remembered the advice of the old man on Sulphur Creek,
But he was safe
And then it happened,

At a place where there were no signs.
The dog was sorry to leave.
He stamped forcefully until the feeling returned to his feet.
But the dog followed again at his heels.
Having been out twice before.
He knew he was ten miles from where the stream divided.
All of his family knew
at six o’clock
he would luck out.
The trouble with him was that he was not able to get through the wet
snow.
He was alive, unlike the dog
